Rancho Mirage, CA (co.uk) - Vic Darchinyan defended his WBC and WBA super flyweight belts with a unanimous decision over challenger Rodrigo Guerrero. Darchinyan (34-2-1, 27 KOs) dominated on all three scorecards to the tune of 118-110, 117-111 and 120-108. The margin of victory was large even though Darchinyan never sent Guerrero (13-2-1, 9 KOs) to the canvas. The Australian Darchinyan landed many hard punches throughout the match, but the closest he came to knocking down his opponent was when Guerrero's mouthpiece flew out in the seventh round. |
