Buenos Aires, Argentina (co.uk) - Diego Simeone has stepped down as head coach at San Lorenzo after his team suffered its seventh loss in 12 league games to Gimnasia LP. The former Argentina international saw his side concede a goal to Sebastian Romero just five minutes into the match, and the loss leaves his side fourth from the bottom in the league table. Simeone has struggled to live up to expectations this season after he guided Estudiantes to the league title in 2006 and River Plate to the crown in 2008, but with only one win in his last six games, Simeone has decided to move on after just under one year in charge.
